August Wilson Center For African-American Culture

The center’s café will transform to host an experiential dinner featuring food and dessert mentioned throughout August Wilson’s (1945-2005) American Century Cycle.

The cycle is a series of plays that depict the comic and tragic aspects of the African American experience.

Recipes are stories and histories; they are a passing on of culture, love, and memory. Because of this, August Wilson featured many historically Black recipes and businesses throughout his plays.

Proceeds benefit the center.
