Go beyond the basics of cut, bend, file, and solder during these weekly get togethers. Build confidence in your metalworking skills by making and using simple hand tools.

A metal is a shiny or lustrous material that conducts electricity and heats well enough to be shaped into any number of uses. Humans began working with copper about 11,000 years ago before expanding to embrace gold, silver and iron. Among the most ancient of such craftspeople is the metalsmith, who fashions useful items (utensils, jewelry, coinage or weapons) out of metal. The place where metal is produced is called a forge.

This class will focus on working with mixed metals and exploring forming, surface enhancement and advanced joining methods.
