The author shares her new novel, The Only Woman in the Room — a powerful mix of fact and fiction surrounding the amazing life of actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr (1914-2000).

Born in what was still the Austro-Hungarian Empire as Hedwig Eva Marie Kiesler, the future American movie star managed to escape the rising Nazi movement. She spent World War II (1939-1945) dividing her time between acting and fighting for the United States and its allies. This included invented a way to transmit radio signals that could not be tracked or jammed. The technology was first used in guided torpedoes and has since been applied in other areas.
