Byham Theater 1 RAWOn this one-hour tour, you will have the chance to step behind the scenes and into the historic 1,300-seat Byham Theater.

The building was completed in 1906 and first named after steamboat pioneer Robert Fulton (1765-1815). The theater was a vaudeville house originally called the Gayety and welcomed some of the biggest stars of the era. By the 1930s it became a full-time cinema and renamed the Fulton Theater. The Cultural Trust acquired the theater in 1990 and refurbished it with financial assistance provided by the family of retired local entrepreneur and author William C. Byham.

From its stint as a vaudeville house and a movie theater to its tenure as a performing arts venue, the Byham Theater is filled with fascinating stories and unique features that you will have the opportunity to experience on a new level.
