Madison Cowles Serna(she/they) is a queer, non-binary, internationally exhibited artist. Surviving is an anthology of 9 visual poems created from the author’s own experiences as a survivor of sexual assault. Each story is accompanied by emotive abstract imagery and arranged to encourage the reader to spend time with each passage.
Presented in partnership with #ChangeRapeCulture, a movement founded by two Black women that strives to champion the national conversation about rape culture and has gone from student protests, to hosting conferences about the reality of rape culture in America.
