This 2017 Iranian/Qatari film follows a young couple, Sara and Hamed, who are caught between tradition and modernity.
After mysterious circumstances involving an intimate act, numerous hospitals turn Sara away from the medical attention she desperately needs because she has no father or husband with her to approve of her treatment. Caught at the crossroads of personal morals and the ethics of the community as they face their uncertain future, Sara and Hamed endure a struggle that couples around the world are still forced to confront.
Presented as part of the Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival, part of the nonprofit Silk Screen organization’s efforts to celebrate diversity and multicultural Asian and Asian-American experience through cultural events.
