This fascinating and disturbing 2025 film documentary confronts a little-known yet supremely evil program.

That program was Aktion T4, a state-sanctioned campaign under the management of Phillipp Bouhler (1899-1945, pictured) to murder thousands of disabled people as “mercy killings.” Spanning over two decades of research and filmmaking, director Cameron S. Mitchell and his collaborators weave together archival records, testimony from descendants, and insights from historians, disability scholars, and activists to examine why this atrocity remained absent from public memory for so long.

Presented as part of the JFilm Festival, an annual showcase of Jewish-themed independent films from around the world.
