Mezzo-soprano Rachel Calloway and violinist Ari Streisfeld are Duo Cortona, a contemporary music ensemble dedicated to the creation of works for its unique instrumentation.
The ensemble explores new sounds and possibilities for its intimate, expressive, and vital combination. Duo Cortona works to establish a new and thus far unexplored repertoire, pursuing the endless possibilities of this union.
Duo Cortona takes its name from the Cortona Sessions for New Music, an annual education program held in the historic Italian town of Cortona. Rachel and Ari met while attending one of the sessions.
This is an “all-ages” concert.
