This exhibition features works inspired by renowned artist Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) created by local students.
Pablo Ruiz Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and theatre designer, largely associated for pioneering the Cubism art style and collaging. Picasso is famous for his Cubist works which emphasize shape, color, and contrast. He is also recognized for his “blue period” which he produced works featuring monochromatic color schemes with shades of blue. Through studying the works of Picasso, students were able to create their own works by implementing these art elements and principles utilized by this famous artist.
The students participating range in ages 6 through 13.
