Travel to Antarctica with paleontologist Dr. Matt Lamanna to search for fossils in a family-friendly, interactive documentary film about finding dinosaurs in one of the most remote places on Earth.

Antarctica is Earth’s southern most continent and contains the South Pole. About 98% of Antarctica is covered by ice that averages 1.2 miles in thickness, which extends to all but the northernmost reaches of the Antarctic Peninsula. The continent is the last region on Earth in recorded history to be discovered, It was first seen in 1820 by a Russian expedition co-led by Admiral Mikhail Lazarev (1788-1851).Several expeditions followed, most famously the 1907 group led by Ernest Shakelton (1874-1922). An international treaty prohibits any country from claiming any part of the continent. The small population is composed of researchers.

This program utilizes an artificial snow machine resulting in heightened noise levels and falling, non-toxic microbubbles. For more information, call (412) 622-3131.
