This exhibition critically explore complex human issues that can shape and influence positive change in food security.

In Pennsylvania, 521,750 children are “food insecure,” lacking reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. Nearly 1 in 7 of our neighbors in Allegheny County face chronic hunger and food scarcity. Economic inequality and structural racism, corporate agricultural practices, food waste, climate change, and domestic and geopolitics are among the many factors that contribute to the wide and growing disparity in the distribution of food resources across the US and around the globe.

Because of the visionary, poetic, and transformative potential of art, you will see, feel, and understand the issues of food insecurity in new and meaningful ways and be moved to become part of the solution.
