The Nigerian-American performance artist known as Lady Dane Figueroa Edid shines in a staged reading of a “For Black Trans Girls Who Gotta Cuss a Mother F*** Out When Snatching an Edge Ain’t Enough.”
“For Black Trans Girls” reflects the challenges transgender women of color face in a culture that is often hostile to them: unemployment, poverty, sexual abuse and short life spans.
Presented in part by the Demaskus Theater Collective, a group of artists who seek to make the messages of the marginalized better known.
