Local football legend Franco Harris appears at this exciting celebration marking the 50th anniversary of an unforgettable event in sports history.

The Pittsburgh Steelers played a challenging game against the Oakland Raiders at Three Rivers Stadium on December 23, 1972. At a crucial point for the Steelers, team member Terry Bradshaw threw the football which was caught by Harris enabling him to make the winning score. The near-perfect action became known as “The Immaculate Reception.”

Prior to the event, visit the museum’s “Super Steelers” exhibition to see the Immaculate Reception football, cleats, and other artifacts examining the life and career of Harris.
