Now in the seventh decade of his professional life, musician composer Herbie Hancock is an exciting and ever-creating American institution.

Herbie helped to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section and was one of the primary architects of the new iterations of jazz that emerged in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He continues to experiment with jazz, fusion, funk and electronic music.

Enjoy an evening of great songs written by Herbie that have become American standards. These include “Watermelon Man” (1962) and “Chameleon” (1973).

This is an “all-ages” concert presented by the August Wilson Center for African American Culture.
