“Heroineburgh” is a live-action, original superheroine video series downloadable from the web, which is also a printed comic book available in stores, and a comic strip which appears in Pittsburgh Current weekly newspaper. The series features a fantastical version of Pittsburgh where dozens of women acquire superpowers from a dark-energy meteor blast. Some use their powers for good, banding together in the Super Heroine League with its headquarters in the Cathedral of Learning, and others gravitate towards the Black Faction, a secret cabal dedicated to discrediting the efforts of the heroines and turning the populace against them. The series features all-local actors, music from local artists, and all Pittsburgh-based locations.
It’s action, adventure, drama, comedy, and romance in the finest spandex and capes for fans age 13 and older.
