Join Naturalist Educator Stephen Bucklin on a dusk-to-dark hike through Frick Park in search of owls while learning more about these charismatic animals who call Pittsburgh home.
There are about 200 species of the solitary, bird-of-prey commonly called the owl. Winter nights full of snow can be some of the most silent, peaceful, and beautiful moments outdoors, but as we enter the last part of winter, that silence is often broken by the hooting of secretive forest dwellers. Owls are supremely adapted for survival, but these skills take time to learn, requiring them to be the early-birds to nesting season.
While this is an all-ages event, it is intended for teenagers and adults. Presented by the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
