Father Sean Hogan, a retired leader of Duquesne University, conducts a mass.

Tradition credits a man identified as Saint Patrick (385CE – 461CE) as brining Christianity to Ireland around the year 400CE. The mass is the central liturgical rite in the Roman Catholic Church, the most prominent religion in the Republic of Ireland. This mass incorporates spiritual traditions rooted in Irish history and culture.

Presented as part of the Pittsburgh Irish Festival, a comprehensive celebration of the region’s Irish heritage through music, lore, food and dance.
