Discover archaeological wonders in the Meadowcroft Rockshelter as the museum opens for its 2019 season.

Meadowcroft is the reconstruction of an Indian village that is now a museum operated as a division of the Senator John Heinz Regional History Center. It is built on a natural formation beneath an overhanging cliff of a sandstone called a rockshelter.

Step inside a wigwam, use a prehistoric atlatl to throw a spear, and watch a blacksmith forge red-hot iron in three recreated villages that explore the daily lives of Americans through the centuries. For more information, callĀ (724) 587-3412.
