Judy Garland (pictured) gives one of her most famous performances in the beloved 1944 Christmas film.
The film follows the fictional Smith family in 1903 Missouri as they face the challenges of a rapidly changing world as exemplified by the St. Louis World Fair. (The fair introduced technologies such as the radio telephone, the X-ray machine, the infant incubator, the airplane and even the precursor to the fax machine).
Several of the movie’s songs have become multi-generation favorites including “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
