Seamlessly blending illusion, acrobatics, magic and whimsy, MOMIX sends audiences flying down the rabbit hole in their version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Formed in 1981 by choreographer Moses Pendleton (pictured), the dance troupe MOMIX has become known internationally for presenting work of exceptional inventiveness and physical beauty. The company is named after a solo, “Momix,” that Pendleton created for the 1980 Winter Olympics.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was written by English author Lewis Carroll (1832-1898) and first published in 1865. It is the story of bored girl who finds herself in a fantasy world populated with intelligent — yet strange — animals.
Filled with visual splendor and startling creative movement, “Alice” reveals that nothing in MOMIX’s world is as it seems.
