Everyone connected to Down Syndrome —  parents, adult siblings, grandparents and caregivers as well as medical and educational professionals — will gain valuable information at this event.

Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of an addition chromosome. People with Down typically experience growth delays, characteristic facial features and intellectual limitations. The syndrome was first professionally described in 1862 by English physician John Langdon Down (1828-1896). The extra chromosome appears randomly and there is no cure for Down.

Attendees have access to six workshop cycles. Each cycle offers a selection of 90-minute workshops that registrants attended based on their interest. These interactive workshops are presented by the experts — from those who pioneer in early childhood communication, to those who redefine the K-12 classroom and those on the frontier of adult challenges.

Founded in 1973, The National Down Syndrome Congress is a membership-sustained not-for-profit organization dedicated to an improved world for individuals with Down Syndrome.
