Students will learn a simple but infinitely creative process of paper-weaving in this two-day workshop.

Paper is a thin material created by treating the fibers of a vegetable-based substance (such as wood or grass) with water. Humans have been making paper since at about 200BCE when it was invented in China. This highly adaptable material can be used to make everything from books to sculpture.

All materials will be provided but students are encouraged to bring an assortment of paper to weave. This can include any printed imagery such as photos, magazines, posters, wallpapers, postcards or Japanese papers.
