This 2019 documentary film chronicles the rise and fall of Third Wave Ska music in the America of the 1990s.
Ska is a musical precursor of reggae that emerged in Jamaica in the late 1950’s. Historians typically divide the history of ska into three periods: the original Jamaican scene; the 2 Tone ska revival of the late 1970’s which fused ska rhythms and melodies with punk rock;) and third wave ska, which peaked in the 1990’s, and placed greater emphasis on the punk elements.
A live question & answer period and performance follows the film featuring Scott Klopfenstein, former member of the band Reel Big Fish.
