Punch Brothers is a gifted five-member band that performs a clever melding of bluegrass music into the structure of classical music by using instruments like mandolin and banjo.
The band takes its name from the critical line of a virus-like jingle that is the centerpiece of American author Mark Twain´s 1876 short story “A Literary Nightmare” (later re-published as “Punch, Brother, Punch”).
