Begun in 1989 as hard-partying musicians jamming in a basement, the quartet Ras Prophet is now one of Pittsburgh’s leading reggae bands.
Reggae is a music genre born in 1960’s Jamaica. The genre incorporates some of the musical elements of rhythm & blues, jazz and mento (celebratory, rural Jamaican folk music).
