UB40 headlines this music festival that brings reggae tunes, unity and good vibes to fans and friends while offering a helping hand to our neighbors in need.
Formed in 1978, English band UB40 grew out of the struggling working-class community in the industrial city of Birmingham. These formerly unemployed guys specialize in pop tunes that are instantly accessible with bright melodies, sweeping horn arrangements and a reggae beat that would be right at home in Jamaica.
The name “UB40” was selected in reference to a form issued to people claiming unemployment benefits from the United Kingdom government’s Department of Employment. The designation UB40 stood for Unemployment Benefit, Form 40.
Proceeds benefit Cafe Momentum, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering justice-involved youth.
