This fun, interactive exhibit is inspired by the wacky machines conceived by cartoonist and engineer Reuben “Rube” Goldberg (1883-1970). He is best known for his popular cartoons depicting complicated gadgets performing simple tasks in indirect, convoluted ways.

Move balls and ramps to trigger chain reaction machines in Wall Machines; create your own hilarious cartoon in the Art Studio; and pull ropes to start a series of musical chain reactions in the large-scale sound animation Music Machine among other activities.
