Tekko is Pennsylvania’s largest anime convention, attracting nearly 12,000 unique and diverse fans from across the country (and world!) to the region.
The term “anime” refers to hand-drawn and computer animation originating from or associated with Japan. The production of anime focuses less on the animation of movement and more on the realism of settings as well as the use of camera effects. Diverse art styles are used and character proportions and features can be quite varied, including large emotive or realistically sized eyes.
Presented by the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society, a non-profit organization that advocates cultural diversity and acceptance in a safe, educational environment .
