The Nigerian-American writer and performance artist known as Lady Dane Figueroa Edid invites participants to reimagine or craft a story of their choosing to help initiate individual and collective change.
Lady Dane Figueroa Edid is the author of the play “For Black Trans Girls Who Gotta Cuss a Mother F*** Out When Snatching an Edge Ain’t Enough.” The play reflects the challenges transgender women of color face in a culture that is often hostile to them: unemployment, poverty, sexual abuse and short life spans.
Presented in part by the Demaskus Theater Collective, a group of artists who seek to make the messages of the marginalized better known.
