“The Trip” follows commercial director Paul Groves (Peter Fonda) who experiments with LSD to transcend his unfulfilled life. Among the highlights (groovy Electric Flag soundtrack, Dennis Hopper’s stoned dialogue, fantastic cinematography and editing) are the visual effects employed to graphically render Paul’s hallucinations — a cinematic fun-house unfettered by the laws of narrative logic.
