“Vaesen” is an award-winning tabletop role playing game introduced in 2020. The title roughly translates from a Swedish word for a supernatural being.
Participants in this variation the role of a character from the world captured by Lewis Wickes Hine (1874-1940) — often called the “father of documentary photography” — and solve a mystery that weaves together industrial conflict and the mythological beliefs brought to Pennsylvania by workers from Europe and the South.
