Born in suburban Chicago, the quartet Veil of Maya lifts deathcore into new punishing sonic realms by incorporating elements of djent.
The term “djent” refers to a type of progressive metal that arouse in Europe in the 1990’s. Its noted for having a distinctive, palm-muted guitar sound.
Veil of Maya takes its name from the title of a 1993 song by the progressive rock band Cynic.
Also performing at this “all-ages” concert are the bands Intervals, Strawberry Girls and Cryptodira.
