Guides will be on hand to tell you the story of the former Allegheny County Jail.
Completed in 1888, the Allegheny Courthouse complex is one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic structures. It is a signature project of noted architect Henry Hobson Richardson (1838-1886) — so much so that it is an excellent example of a style known as Richardsonian Romanesque.
Admission is free. Presented by Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, an organization founded in 1964 by a group of citizens who passionately believe that historic preservation can be a tool for renewing communities.
