Experience a special multicultural event highlighting the personal stories of African and African American teens and adults living in Northview Heights through alternative and participatory methods of storytelling.
Northview Heights is a Pittsburgh neighborhood on the city’s border with the suburb Reserve Township.
During a seven-year period from 1955-1962, the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh created a 999 unit public housing project in Northview Heights. The neighborhood’s resulting status as an isolated public housing development with a population of over 90% African-Americans has been a source of controversy from its outset.
