Join certified Whisky Ambassador Lee Morrison at the distillery for an exclusive monthly exploration into all things whiskey.

Whiskey is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain (such as barley or wheat) that is distilled with other ingredients and aged in wooden casks. The origin of whiskey is a matter of dispute, but its history is strongly aligned with that of Scotland.

This month’s session introduces two geographically significant factors which can influence the tastes of whiskey. These factors include terroir, or the impact that soil has on the grain used to create whiskey, and the re-use of barrels that previously matured other wines or spirits of unique geographic character.

The class includes a flight of Wigle’s finest spirits which reinforces the afternoon’s subject. For more information on this age 21+ program, call (412) 224-2827.
