Join certified Whisky Ambassador Lee Morrison at the distillery for an exclusive monthly exploration into all things whiskey.

Whiskey is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain (such as barley or wheat) that is distilled with other ingredients and aged in wooden casks. The origin of whiskey is a matter of dispute, but its history is strongly aligned with that of Scotland.

This month’s session introduces the processes required to produce whiskey including malting, milling, mashing, fermenting, and distilling. Each step of the process enables a unique opportunity for the distiller to influence the flavors of whiskey, and the variables at the distiller’s disposal when influencing flavors are discussed.

The class includes a flight of Wigle’s finest spirits which reinforces the afternoon’s subject. For more information on this age 21+ program, call (412) 224-2827.
