Gene Wilder (pictured) delivers a wonderfully entertaining performance in this 1971 film adaptation of the beloved children’s novel.
Written by British author Roald Dahl (1916-1990) and first published in 1964, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory follows a youngster’s experience visiting the factory of an eccentric candy maker. The film sticks to that basic story (although the emphasis shifts away from Charlie), with the addition of colorful visuals and delightfully silly songs.
The brunch includes a delicious breakfast sandwich and other goodies from a nearby bakery. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
