Meet Sarah Menkedick and Katie Booth, two nonfiction writers whose work illuminates discriminated communities.
Sarah will be reading from an essay first published in Harper’s on undocumented workers returning to Mexico, as well as from her new book, Homing Instincts. Katie will read from her book The Illusion of Miracles, in which she explores the wrongheaded ways people attempt to “fix” difference through the true story of inventor Alexander Graham Bell’s (1847-1922) flawed pursuit for a cure for deafness.
