Banksville Park is a municipal park featuring a mix of open meadows and wooded sections

The neighborhood called Banksville is located in the. city’s southwest. it was named by settler Alexander Carnahan (1789–1879) in honor of the family of his second wife — Eliza Banks. The original town Banksville was a farming community as well as a prosperous mining town whose settlers were mostly Scotch-Irish. The town became part of Pittsburgh in 1907.

Facilities include sports fields, a swimming pool and a playground.
