The Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management at Robert Morris University provides effective and practical management and governance tools, information, education and research that strengthen nonprofit missions and multiply on all investments of time, talent and money made in regional nonprofit organizations.

Named after merchant/statesman Robert Morris Jr. (1734-1806) and founded in 1921, Robert Morris University offers 60 bachelor’s degree programs as well as masters and doctoral programs. Primary funding for the Bayer Center was provided by the Bayer USA Foundation, a philanthropic arm of the German pharmaceutical company Bayer AG.

Robert Morris’ main campus is located in a small town west of Pittsburgh called Moon. However, the Bayer Center is on the 7th floor of what is now called the Heinz 57 Center. The building was originally constructed in 1914 and in 1925 became the Pittsburgh branch of the Gimbels Brothers (1887-1987) department store chain. Today, most of the building serves as the headquarters for food conglomerate H.J. Heinz Company.
