Brillobox is a hip, trendy neighborhood bar popular with area artists, performers and college students.
Their name is derived from a piece of pop art created by Pittsburgh native Andy Warhol (1928-1987) in 1964 that re-imagined the packaging of a box of Brillo scouring pads.
The bar’s mellow atmosphere begins with the garage door that opens up to the street on warm-weather nights. Inside is a retro décor complete with 1960s-era fixtures (including red vinyl booths and bar stools) and even a jukebox.
In addition to mixed drinks and a wide variety of beers, Brillobox serves homemade food including vegan and vegetarian cuisine.
Concerts, disc jockeys and dancing often happen on the bar’s second floor.
