Continuously open since 1898, the Carnegie Library Music Hall Of Homestead has hosted musicians and singers, symphony orchestras, plays and operas.

It should not be confused with the better known Carnegie Music Hall in the city’s Oakland neighborhood and part of the complex that includes the Carnegie Library Of Pittsburgh, the Carnegie Museum Of Art and the Carnegie Museum Of Natural History.

The Carnegie Library Of Homestead was founded by industrialist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) in 1896 and is the oldest Carnegie library in continuous operation in its original building. The magnificent French Renaissance structure was constructed with Pompeian brick.

Some of the music world’s most exciting up-and-coming acts perform in the library’s elegant, Victorian music hall and its 1,000 seats.
