Opened in 1794, the historic Century Inn is the oldest continuously operating hotel on the National Road.

The National Road (also known as Cumberland Road) was constructed by the federal government in 1811 as the first major improved highway in the United States. The road begins in Cumberland, Maryland and runs through various states (including Pennsylvania), terminating at Vandalia, Illinois.

This beautiful stone structure has 9 beautiful guest rooms filled with antique furniture, a dining room and saloon.

Century Inn has hosted many famous visitors including US President Andrew Jackson (1767-1845), the French military hero Marquis de Lafayette (1757-1834), noted American politician Henry Clay (1777-1852), US President James K. Polk (1795-1849) and Mexican General Santa Anna (1794-1876).
