The First United Church of Christ was founded in 1887 by a group of German Immigrants and was originally called Erste Deutsche Evangelische Kirche (First German Evangelical Church) becoming the the First Evangelical Lutheran Church shortly after the First World War (1914-1918).
In 1957 the congregation merged with the Congregational Church of Christ becoming the First United Church of Christ.
The church building on North Avenue was constructed in 1888 and renovated in 1934. It features beautiful stain glass windows and a multi-purpose room for congregation and community events.

The church’s office is open Tuesday & Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
