The National Museum was founded and organized by interdisciplinary artist Jon Rubin to challenge the traditional notions of a museum.
It is located at a three-story commercial building constructed in 1930 that has commonly housed restaurants during its long history.
Taking the form of a signage on an empty storefront space, the work will consist of the opening phrase “The National Museum of” and will be modified often by an invited artist selected by Jon Rubin in consultation with an advisory board.
