The Park House is a popular North Side tavern and eatery with a rich history dating from the late 19th century.
What is now the Park House was constructed in the 1890s with commercial space on the first floor and apartments above. Throughout the decades it has been home to a soda fountain, tailor, grocery and even a bakery/candy shop. At the end of Prohibition in 1933, two local residents launched the “new” Park House tavern — one of the first licensed bars in Pittsburgh.
The interior décor features beautiful, stamped tin ceilings, crafted wood work, dusky brass and exposed brick.
Local bands often perform at Park House.
