Workshop PGH is a DIY school that focuses on classes taught by local makers and small business owners.
“DIY” is an abbreviation dating to 1912 for “do-it-yourself” and refers to building or modifying an item things without the direct aid of experts or professionals. As an artistic aesthetic, it is applied to a variety of creative endeavors from painting and sculpture to the digital.
Workshop PGH was established in 2016 by Kelly Malone (who co-founded a similar enterprise in San Francisco). They welcome all and supports makers with great paychecks for teaching to support their dreams and small business growth — something that means a lot to the creative community.
