The Improv is a nationwide chain of comedy clubs begin in 1963 New York City by actor/producer Budd Friedman (born 1932).

Starting with the original, both up-and-coming as well as established comedy stars have performed at these clubs.

The Pittsburgh club is located at The Waterfront, an open-air mall located just outside the city situated on the site of the former Homestead Steel Works (1881-1986).
