Local artists have interpreted the titles of the Motown songs they love into physical artworks for this vibrant exhibition.
Motown Records is a record label founded in 1959 by producer Barry Gordy which developed a style soul music that became known as “The Motown Sound.” Motown music is magnetic, mobilizing and — most importantly — a cause for celebration.
This exhibit is presented in partnership with Women of Vision, an artist collective formed in 1981 to provide African-American women opportunities in the art world.
