This installation is part of a research-oriented project by sisters Christine Wertheim and Margaret Wertheim (pictured) of The Institute for Figuring.
The Institute for Figuring is an interdisciplinary practice dedicated to engaging audiences with the poetic dimensions of science and mathematics though materially embodied activities.
In response to the environmental challenges facing the world’s coral reefs, this installation showcases artist-created artificial reefs made with crochet.
